Roblox has released its Ban API, and here's everything you need to know.

Roblox is a massive platform where millions of young users login to play their favourite experiences, with over 60% of its audience comprising users less than 16 years of age—making moderation a much-needed step.
While the platform previously provided the creators with Kick API that they could use to temporarily ban users, it lacked features like Ban History, detecting alt accounts of the banned users, and a better customization option based on experience.
Roblox has launched the nuanced and improved version of Kick API, the all-new Ban API, to the creators via the Creator Hub to allow them to moderate their respective experiences and set up their own moderation rules, granted they fall under Roblox Community Standards (301) and Terms of Use (118).
That being said, here are some of the key features the Ban API will provide to the creators:
- New real-time alternate account detection: Suspected alt accounts are also banned in real-time when you ban a user.
- Moderation History Overview: You can see your moderation history for any users you ban from the experience.
- Customizable Bans: You can determine the reason and duration of the ban.
- Configure via Engine or OpenCloud API: Ban API is available via Engine and OpenCloud APIs to ensure implementation is flexible and accessible to all creators.
We're continually working to ensure creators have the tools and support they need to build the best experiences possible for the community. With the release of the new Ban API, they now have greater control over moderating repeat offenders. https://t.co/JNU1NuI8ML
